SPECIES INFORMATION

The blue cod can be seen in the waters, mostly in the months from April to September. It is found in the south part of New Zealand and the Chatham Islands. The blue cod can also be found in the crook straight, Marlborough, and Wanganui.

Types of fish that can be found
The body color of the blue cod variety is dependent on the age and the sex of the fish. The large males are very blue, and they have greenish sides. The males also have a golden brown strip that is present above each of its eyes. Some of the female fishes are mottled, and they have a color towards the lighter shade of green. The juvenile blue cod has a broad brown band on its sides. The blue cod species has an elongated body, and its head is sloping smoothly.
